iKnockOut offers an engaging approach for one to four students to practice addition and subtraction involving numbers from 1 to 18. It provides an opportunity for single-player gameplay against the computer. The game interface features a board with 18 numbered spaces, each capable of holding two marbles distinguished by color. Marbles are positioned on the board based on the outcomes of rolling three dice.

During play, placing a marble on a number occupied by another marble results in the latter being knocked out and removed from the game. If a number contains two marbles of the same color, that number is considered captured and cannot be played on further. The objective is to capture five numbers before the opponent does.

The game offers three distinct modes:

• Standard Play: Players add or subtract the values of all three dice to match an open number on the board. All dice must be utilized to place either one or two marbles, but not three, nor can two marbles be placed on the same number in a single turn. For example, with a roll of 3, 6, and 5, there are multiple possible moves such as placing a single marble on 14 (6+3+5) or two marbles on combined totals like 11 and 3 (3+8=14) or 15 and 1 (15-1=14). The game provides hints to suggest additional move combinations.
• Modified Play: Marbles are placed based on the total sum of the three dice. Unlike standard play, players can place up to ten marbles per turn, not limited to two. For instance, with dice totaling 14 (3+6+5), players may place a single marble on 14, or multiple marbles on combinations like 11 and 3, 15 and 1, or even four marbles summing to 14 (e.g., 2+3+4+5). The HINT feature suggests move combinations involving up to three marbles.
• Free Play: All rules are eliminated default, with no preset restrictions or hints. Players are encouraged to devise their own variations and rules, offering maximum flexibility for creative gameplay.
